![]() Many of us get depressed when we lose focus or motivation because we think that successful people have some bottomless reserve of passion.And time would make these small differences as clear as day. When life throws us a barrage of shitty circumstances, what we turn back to are our habits and if those habits are good, they help you work to even a small bit of improvement while bad habits cause you to lose some progress. We often focus on the end goal that we want to achieve, yet what is more critical is the habits that are small, actionable, and contribute even minutely to this self improvement.You do not rise to the level of your goals.It makes clear that it is consistent and small amount of work and improvements that really matter, not sudden and occasional/rare bursts and spurts of motivation that contribute to your improvement. In reading this book, it got me considering a parallel concept (compound interest) from investment.Time magnifies the margin between success and failure.Needless to say, I really enjoyed this book. I then listened to the audiobook, fell in love, borrowed it from the library, read it physically, and bought a hardcopy of the book. His video on Atomic Habits got me interested, the concept of the book seemed so simple and beautiful. I was a regular viewer of Ali Abdaal (Doctor/Youtuber), and enjoyed his ‘ Book Club‘ videos. Instead, Clear equips the reader with the tools to build the habits that bring them 1% closer to who they want to be daily. This book highlights that everyone can take charge of their lives, strive to improve and succeed not by focusing on the end goal. Summary: Humans are creatures of habit, and with the right habits our potential can be boundless. ![]()
